Flashback: Dining Room - Kvant

Quinn stepped into the dining room, pausing expectantly of salutes befitting an XO - a formality that Quinn personally didn't care for, but was required and was as a sign of respect. But what bothered him was it was respect for the position, not the person. They never saluted people when he was an officer, except the Captain. And then it was saluting the man, not the rank. Nevertheless, Quinn paused, expectant of the formality.

Sarah Chu saluted as Quinn entered, then walked towards the table and placed her hands on a chair.

"Good afternoon, sir", she said, "Do you want to sit here or somewhere else?"

Harper glanced up from her looking at ther cortex as the XO entered the dining hall, and after having saluted him went back to what she had previously been looking at. Which didn't take very long and she placed the unit on the table in front of her and addressed Quinn. "What news do you have for us, sir?"

Harper

Quinn saluted back and nodded. "Just that the Captain wants everyone to have a good time, but we're all under Directive 493: Employees are not allowed to embarrass the company. If you want to humiliate yourself, don't identify yourself as an Eagle," he said, reciting the words exactly as Danielle had said them. He gave a slight smile so as not to appear distrusting while bringing up such matters.

"So", Sarah smiled, "That's fine. I know several people who are perfectly good at humiliating themselves, myself included".

- GM

Grinning ar Sarah's comment, Harper winked at the other woman before addressing Quinn. "So in other words...If you want to get smashed and find someone to say, uh, have some quality time with, keep your trap shut about your job?"

Harper

"That's fine", Sarah said, "It's more like if you want to have said quality time in the back of a vehicle and get arrested in the process".

Quinn slowly grinned as the conversation progressed, choosing not to ignore all of the comments concerning the feminine side of partying hard. "Or if you spend your time with someone who knows you're an Eagle, don't do anything I wouldn't do," he said, joking, and he gave a short and friendly laugh. Quinn was known for being the life of the party, although since joining the Eagles he has toned down his extracurricular activities to being the life of smaller parties...usually parties involving just 1 other person.

"I've got it!" Harper snapped her fingers as a mischievous smile, tilted at the corner lighting up her already mischievous face. "Just make sure that whoever your spending the evening with has to follow the Directive also, or don't actually do much talking." She knew she probably shouldn't be doing this much joking around, but the wait for their leave time was starting to get unbearable.

Harper

Sarah laughed at that.

"Well, there more than a few people in this company who are married to other Eagles..."

Lakehurst's voice came over the comm.

Quinn looked up at that moment at nothing in particular as the message came over the speaker. "Guess we better get ready to relax," Quinn said with a slight grin, anticipating a long awaited massage along with other things.
