Odyssey: Cargo Bay

Post  Jason Andersen on Tue May 03, 2011 10:14 pm

The release of the airlock was the last sound they heard as the three ships disappeared into the black, taking two of their crew - including the captain - with them.

The remains of the Odyssey crew had but one choice - get the ship flying again.

Olaf immediately took charge, and turned to the other two men.

"You two, do whatever it takes to get that engine up and running again. Strip other systems if you have to."

He turned to Naraea. "If you have a head for mechanics, help them. Otherwise, I'd like you to sit at the gunner station, in case we have any more company."

He turned and headed for the bridge to see what the captain had left for him, Freya close on his heels.

Ronon grunts and springs into action, he grabs X by the shoulder

"C'mon Buddie we got two engines to kick start !"

Ronon jogs to the engine room

Naraea wasn't much fer fixing things. She was a merc who could pilot but not a mechanic. "Erm.....I ain't all I can do is keep this boat in the sky....." Sighing she looked over to X worried about this new ship.

Olaf paused only a moment and turned, looking at Naraea. He was not sure he could trust these two yet, but she had done well on the guns and Ronon and X seemed to be working well together. And he really didn't have much of a choice, he and Ronon couldn't fly this boat themselves. It was time to put out a trusting hand and hope the dogs didn't bite.

"Alright then, I could use your help on the bridge," he said over his shoulder as he hurried to the bridge.

<------time cut--------->

A shipwide announcement echoed in the empty cargo bay:
= All hands, report to the cargo bay. =

Soon the hatch from the engine room area swung open and a large form strode through it with snakes flowing from his head, It was Ronon with his head of dreads, the man looked mean and ready for business
A slimmer but well built man followed, it was X, both were sweaty from their work on the engines and both wanted to get their new captain and crew mate back

" Hey X , we're the first ones here, Oh theres the mule, I suppose we should prep her "

Ronon and X begin to prep the mule , it was a sturdy looking unit and would get them to where the captain was, provided they did not land on the opposite side of wherever they had landed

" Im gonna shoot the people who took our captain,Poor Ayla, if they hurt her, I'll rip them to pieces with my bare hands "

Ronon finishes fueling the mule while X gives it a quick look over

A minute later and Olaf and Freya, followed by Naraea (ooc: taking liberties here, hope that's ok) came down into the bay from the bridge.

Olaf immediately went to the weapons locker and outfitted himself with two pistols and a shotgun, before addressing everyone.

"We've landed on Haven. I'm not sure why they came here, but they are a few miles to the south. I don't think they spotted us visually, but I can't guarantee they didn't track us in via radar. As much as I'd love to go in guns blazing, we know they outnumber us. We need a plan, and fast. If they take off again, we'll have no hope of catching them."

He took a breath, then continued.

"I'm also pretty sure we'll have Alliance showing up in the very near future, so we don't have time to waste. Suggestions?"

Naraea was not happy to hear the Alliance would be coming. She grabbed a few extra guns and granades as well as anything else she could safely carry as a weapon. "So's more tip toein then....ya really should be cap'n ya to the skill."

Ronon stood tall and looked menacing with a light shining on him from behind

" Dump me off close to wherever their boat is and I'll slide in , I can be stealthy and plant some charges to ruin their day, We have to be careful I heard there is quicksand in some of these parts "

Ronon walks over to the weapons locker and slings to gun belts over his broad shoulders, then he proves a large caliber gun , then it was grab some charges , he looks at Olaf his face set like flint

" We'll get August and Ayla back and maybe some more "

Ronon cocks the gun and hops up into the mule ready for action

"Alright, we'll drop Ronon off near their ship and then see what we can see."

It was difficult to make plans without any kind of information. He whistled Freya up into the mule - she could be useful in the fight that was sure to ensue.

"Everyone in? Let's go."

He pulled the mule out of the hatch, making sure to close it behind them so as not to return to any unwelcome guests. His wound still twinged when he thought about the last time he'd been careless with the hatch.

The mule left the cargo bay, and the expanse of the planet Haven opened before them.
